Waiting for Budd the film biography of Hudson Film Group's On the Waterfront by Garry Pastore, Dir.
"Out of the Ash" won Audience choice at it's first screening which automatically placed it in the running for the Grand Jury Prize. we didn't win, but it was damned nice to be recognized.
Shaurice, Becton, and Sakamoto are also wonderful to watch as the witches. Their chemistry as an ensemble is no less than perfect. And I love how they also play the murderers and soldiers Macbeth hires throughout the play—it visualizes their ubiquitous power.
And the Weird Sisters: Lavita Shaurice’s First Witch was all seeing and all knowing; James Edward Becton’s Second Witch was full of gamboling mischief; and Third Witch Briana Sakamoto seemed to melt like Salvador Dali’s clocks, as she liquidly arrived on surfaces to become a gracefully athletic faerie, intent on adding her power to her Sisters’ for the ultimate destruction of the folly of Man.
The three witches were as mysterious and menacing as they needed to be, lurking on stage and moving in tandem like a well oiled machine.

* The New York Times says, "Finding the right balance between the lofty and the lowdown proves elusive with the exception of the charismatic Mr. Becton."  [Playing with Fire]

** NYTheatre.com says "The actors, Ridley Parson as Elgin and James Edward Becton as Stanton, do excellent work; indeed, the script offers its two players splendid opportunities to show off their versatility thanks to the surprises it includes. [Lights Narrow]

TheatreScene.net says, "James Edward Becton is suitably suave..." [Playing with Fire]
